Bath & Body Works Manila

Bath & Body Works - White Tea and Ginger Lotion
I recently discovered White Tea & Ginger lotion from Bath&Body Works.  It has a refreshing fragrance that is agreeable to my highly sensitive nose (floral scent gives me sniffles).  Best of all, it's available locally at SM Department Store along with other Bath & Body Works products! :) Ohh, love it!

How's your holiday so far?  Had to cut mine short due to work, but parties & reunions are not yet over! Meaning, it'll be a week-long kainan and get-together after office hours before 2012...  Happy Monday!

AriZona Green Tea: To Tea or Not to Tea?

I have been on the lookout for AriZona Green Tea since I tasted it in ShopMultiply's party last month. Finally, the search is over!  I found a range of AriZona drinks in Rustans Fresh this week.  But before I hoard a case or two...

Sweet Beer for the Ladies : Bundaberg

I'm not a fan of beers.  They taste bad and smell bad on my book.  But when H made me try Bundaberg Brewed Drinks we found in a trade fair - Ohh, I'm hooked!

A non alcoholic beer that tastes good - sweet! Hold on, so is this sweet beer really a beer?

By definition, yes but the process also removes the alcohol to achieve a legally acceptable level as a non alcoholic beverage.  Check this detailed explanation from a forum I found in the internet:

Bundaberg has a range of products & flavors which includes Bundaberg's famous Ginger Beer, Lemon, Lime and Bitters, Sarsaparilla, Peachee, Burgundee, Lemon Ale, Apple Ale and a selection of cafe style flavours which include Blood Orange, Pink Grapefruit and Guava. Bundaberg Brewed Drinks also offers diet varieties for those counting their calorie intake.

For a sweeter deal, no need to go to special trade fairs to get a fix of Bundaberg products in Manila. H & I spotted a limited selection at Landmark Supermarket (Australian product section), Trinoma. I do hope they can complete the whole line soon! ☺

Inside My Survival Kit

My Survival Kit Essentials

I've been a busy bee this past week.  Not only did my day job and recently activated blogger's life required me to go all around the metro (literally), I also attended a string of family gatherings for my Ina's week-long life celebration.

To keep me worry free while I'm on-the-go, I made sure I packed these essentials for my survival kit alongside my makeup bag.

Top 5 Picks "Healthy Lunch To-Go"

Since I'm in a 2-month dare of trimming down before our 1st wedding anniv, I compelled myself to eat healthy meals even at work.  It was quite a challenge considering my budget; nevertheless, na-carry ko naman!

Here are my top 5 picks for healthy lunch to-go. Enjoy!

Top 5 Picks "Guiltless Office Snacks"

(late posting)  It's an hour before lunch and my tummy's grumbling.  I don't want to ruin lunch and upset my "recently resumed" diet so I munch on some low-calorie snacks to keep my tummy quiet.  J

Here are my top guiltless office nibbles that I keep in my stash

1.      Nuts. Nuts. Nuts.
HAPPY:  All time fav of our team :-)

2.      Raisins.
Great for digestion + some sugar for my sweet tooth

3.      Oats/ cereal drink.
I go for Nutri-go's chocolate cereal drink (who says I can't have chocos?)

4.      Yogurt.
They say its acquired taste, but I’d like to think yogurts are actually substitutes for ice creams.
All time fav, Nestle fruit yogurt.

my 3 favorite fruit flavors :-)

5.      Coffee.
Depends on the weather, I either have it hot/ iced cold.
Nestle Brown 'N Cream 3in1 (YAMMY! lol)

Best of all, these also serve as emergency food for prolonged meetings; stress-relievers; or even  pampagising!  Have a great day :-)

Yadiyani's Pastillas de Leche

Don't be fooled with the size.  Ohh! So creamylicious!
I almost finished the whole box in one sitting.  >_<

50pcs of yummy pastillas per box @P100 only.

No body can say no to pastillas, right? Pastillas de leche is one of the most popular native sweets we have in the Philippines.  It's a mixture of milk and sugar normally seen in flattened mini-rectangles or mini-logs.  Yadiyani's Pastillas de Leche is so creamy, I can actually feel it melt in my mouth.  :-)

I wonder why the other pastillas are hard and dry?

uncracking the TOPS mystery

My friend and I did a little experiment last week with Flat Tops and Curly Tops.  Interesting diba?  Haven't you ever wondered the difference between the two???  (hehehe... the truth is, I just wanted to buy chocolates in the grocery in spite of my colds.  I used the experiment to get loads of sweet stuffs! lol!)

Anyway, here are some of our findings :

1.   made by Ricoa:  Both are manufactured by Ricoa, a local chocolate manufacturer in the Philippines, been in ops since I can remember.   Another fav product is their ricoa cocoa powder, we use that for baking and also for my ina’s special champorado...mmm parang bagay for this rainy weather)

2.   price & packaging:  Price and packaging sizes are similar as we scanned through the grocery.  Packaging design almost looks identical.  Familiarity with the products' colors (which I assume, people my age are well aware of since we all grew up with these chocos) help you distinguish which is which.

3.   brands:  Named as such because of their tops! (i assume)  Flat Tops have flat top surface, while Curly Tops (from the box) have curly ridges because of its "cupcake-like" cover.  Those we bought look very similar though because of the packaging. (sana they retained the curls pa din)

4.   look, taste, texture:  aside from the flat and curly tops, the two differ slightly in their colors.  Curly Tops have darker/ richer brown color than Flat tops.  Based on their packaging, both are milk chocolates.  The two taste the same but varies in their texture.  Flat Tops is a bit dry & crumbly, while Curly Tops has rich & smooth consistency.

So what’s our verdict?  2 hands for Curly Tops for its distinct smooth texture and rich chocolate taste! J(but Hubby’s sticking with Flat Tops daw… )

my accomplice: mae :-)
