Discover Pastry: Cooking Demo at Enderun


It's back to school for me! Well, at least for a day for a Pastry Cooking Demo at Enderun in Mckinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio.



I had no idea what was in store for me last weekend, but after checking out Enderun's facilities before the demo, my new high heeled platforms started skipping in the air - the lab kitchens look really exciting!

Chef Jasmine Magallanes, Asst. Pastry Chef of Enderun, led the demo last Saturday. We did 3 kinds of pastry, Raspberry Financiers (easy), Saint-Honore (challenging), and Orange Chiboust Caramel Tarte (complicated) in less than 2 hours, can you believe that?

Chef Jasmine did a good job explaining the reasons behind the techniques and shared some practical tips for home cooks/ hobbyists like me. She, by the way, specializes in wedding cakes and handcrafted chocolate confections, and has undergone training in pastry arts, including Tulip Chocolate Training Program in Indonesia, and Baking and Pastry Chef Instructor Training Program form Johnson and Wales University in Florida. 


And for the final products:
