Rajo Laurel & Metro Magazine held a special fashion show to celebrate the renowned designer's 20th anniversary at the Fairmont Raffles Ballroom Hotel on May 19, 2013.
It was a delight to witness his graceful collection last Sunday. It was both a retrospect of his past works and a foretaste of the future by way of his new innovations. Indeed, Rajo has proven himself to be one of the icons in the Philippine fashion industry.
The event was for the benefit of Lopez Group of Foundations' communities: Halad sa Guimaras, victims of 2006 oil spill, and Bayanijua, relocated settlers of Typhoon Ondoy and the Pasig River Clean-up Project.
Again, congratulations & happy birthday Mr. Rajo Laurel!

The Rajo Laurel incorporated geometric designs in his creations is stunning!! I especially love most the black floor length organza. Just beautiful! It must be breathtaking to be able to sit front row during his shows.

ReplyDelete20 yrs of work was a feat, rajo has carved his name in the fashion business
20 years is an institution. The collection was fab!
ReplyDeleteLovely creations! There are some made just for the runway though. I couldn't see someone wearing that gown with springs on a formal event. :)
ReplyDeleteLol! I had the same thought.. looking closely, the springs are detachable and you wear it like an accessory. While for some, I still can't figure out how to sit down wearing it or manage to get inside the car! Price of vanity. Hihihi
DeleteI wonder if someone would actually wear that white long gown with all the loops and also the red one for an event or function...Makes me wonder how the person would even manage to get in a car or sit down hehehe.
ReplyDeleteRajo laurel is indeed a great designer of our country. I saw one of his creation worn by one of our schoolmates when she joined a beauty contest.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could attend to a show like this. It would be quite an experience I think. Rajo Laurel is really gifted on fashion...excellent designs!
ReplyDeleteThose are great dresses.. He's really talented.
ReplyDeleteThey're all gorgeous and beautiful. I should show this to my daughter. She said if she can't be a model, she'll be a fashion designer. Who better to show as a model for a successful designer! Love the designs.
ReplyDeleteVisit the next Philippine Fashion Week with your daughter. Check their website to request for invites. She'll be very thrilled! :)
DeleteLucky you to grace the event. I wish to watch this kind of events but I'm not receiving invites nor I have the time.. hehe.
