Am I Drinking Enough?

Take the 10-point test to check your water need.  Photo from a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net

Choppy lips & dry mouth are sure indicators I'm not drinking enough water.  So how much water do I need anyway?

I used the Hydration Calculator from About.com to determine how much liquid I really need especially during this dry season.  You see, the rule of 8 eight-ounce glasses a day is just a guide since it's convenient to remember but it does not necessarily apply to all.  Our water need can change every day depending on several factors such as our weight, physical activity, weather, food intake & even our current health condition.

After taking the 10-point test, it calculated 117.5 ounces or 3.5 liters of minimum water intake.  If I eat healthy, about 20 percent of my water may come from the food I eat.  But either way, that's about 2 bottles of 1.5L Coke or 15 eight-ounce glasses or five 700ml water tumblers!  Now I know why I'm dehydrated. >_<

To keep tab on how many bottle refills I already did, I place paper clips on my tumbler strap.  Nice, right? :D

I hope you find this handy.  Happy Tuesday!
